AGM 2011

This years AGM was one of the best attended for some time so thanks to all who managed to make it.

The Chairman and Treasurer made their annual reports followed by the awards, unfortunately no models were entered into the concourse this year, and it was decided after consultation that the most improved flyer cup also had no nomination so with regret the relevant trophies could not be awarded.

November Club Night

Another successful club night with an very informative talk by Steve Kessel on the history and aerodynamic principals of the Autogyro. Steve showed slides and video to illustrate his talk and brought with him a model that he fly`s and one in construction, great evening thanks Steve. He was presented with a hand carved propeller made by Mike Luscombe who sadly died earlier in the year, thanks to Peter Harrall for donating it for this presentation.

 

First Club Night of Winters Program 2011

The club night was well attended and the build project has now kicked off with the Jitterbug and Astro Hog being the choice of airframes, so this will run through to next year where we hope to have a fly off. Next meeting  Nov 9th subject to be auto gyro`s with Steve Kessel.

OPEN DAY 2011

Openday 2011 on Sunday 18th September was well attended and considering the weather a great success, despite the rain our pilots kept flying and the club would like to thank all the display and training pilots for their efforts in maintaining continuity through out the day also those members who supported the event both public and air side. also those guests who despite occasionally getting wet stayed with us. Open Day 2011

Open Day will be the Sunday 18th September this year and in preperation for it Craig is putting together a display team here are a few photo`s of the aircraft.

Also to fly again will be the Diamond 4 as flown last year, built by a group of our senior members and flown by Clive.

Working Day

Working Day is this Saturday 26th March from 8.30am.

No Flying until 12noon or BBQ  which ever comes first.

Birthday Boy

Following a interesting and informative talk by Ted Clapp MBE at the November club night, he was presented with a present in celebration of his 80th birthday by chairman Robert Neilson.

Cleanup Day 4th September in preparation for OPEN DAY

Saturday 4th September Site clean up morning until 12 noon NO FLYING during this period.

Plenty to do so if you can spare the morning please help from 08.30 onwards.

BBQ at 12 noon for the workers.

Funday results and photo`s

RMAC Fun Fly Competition – Held Sat 3rd July 2010-07-05

The competition consisted 3 events:

  • Climb and Glide
  • Touch and Go
  • Team Relay event using a Club Trainer

The weather could not have been better.  Slight breeze in a very favourable direction with good clear sky and some cloud.  In short it was one of the best flying days of the year.  The turn out to the event was a bit disappointing but we went ahead to plan.
