Craig Cundey’s Flying Diary

Hi

Just an update on the flying.

Last weekend completed my 2 land away solos, both in the same day … quite unusual to do them on the same day ( So I have been told) a rather stressful experience and one a day is usually enough.

Have completed over 7 hours solo with 3 more to do followed by my Navigation exam then my General skills test should see me finished.

Urgently required for club training

NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS

CLUB TRAINING

This is an urgent appeal!

The majority of our Trainees have Spectrum and Futaba T/X’s . In order to provide Buddy Lead Instruction we have an urgent need for Slave T/X’s.

If any one has Futaba/Skysport or JR/Spectrum T/X’s, 35 mhz or 2.4 which they could donate to the Club it would be very much appreciated.

At this stage 1 Futaba/Skysport and 1 Spectrum/JR would enable us to carry out the required training.

Two practical tips applied to recent models from David Thorpe

Hand Balancing a model – not for exact scale aircraftIMG_9877

Use model instructions to determine where the CG should be then mark this lightly. Then under each wing, close to the root with the fuselage, stick one small domed soft blisters (used in flat pack furniture to prevent noisy door banging) at the C… Continue reading

We are always looking for people to come and try flying the F5B event. Basically any electric glider will do – We have flown the ST Blaze and an Easyglider Pro amongst others on the course before. They do not generally go very fast, but accuracy is more important than… Continue reading

New Pilot Open Day – Precision Aerobatics

Message from the Bury Club

I am writing to find out if you have any pilots who would be interested in finding out about precision aerobatics.
The Great Britain Radio Control Aerobatic Association (GBRCAA) is delegated by the BMFA to organise precision aerobatics in GB. In order to generate more interest in this aspect of the sport, they support a New Pilot Open Day at which experienced aerobatic pilots will take rank newcomers to the sport under their wing. The… Continue reading
